The sweet spices in chai make these doughnuts taste amazing, but they’re even better with a smooth, creamy vanilla frosting. It makes them taste just like a chai latte!

1 cup gluten free flour (I used Doves farm)
¼ cup oat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ cup coconut sugar
¾ cup chai latte (1-2 tsp. loose leaf chai + ¾ cup of oat milk)
¼ cup apple sauce
1 tsp. vanilla

3 tbsp. maple syrup
1 cup. cashews
½ cup. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Candied Pecans:

½ cup chopped pecans
2 tbsp. maple syrup

Pre heat the oven to 180c.
Place all of the dry ingredients into a bowl and stir well
Gently heat the milk and chai tea in a small pan, removing before it reaches boiling point
Strain the tea from the milk and combine with the apple sauce
Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients.
Stir until the mixture is well combined and pour ¼ cup of mixture into each doughnut ring.
Bake for 15 minutes, at this point a knife should come out clean
Leave to cool before applying the frosting
Once cool, apply the frosting and sprinkle with candied pecans

To make the frosting place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
To make the candied pecans, place the pecans into a small pan over a gently toast for a couple of minutes. Once toasted add in the maple syrup and stir constantly until the pecans are covered. Remove from the heat and place the pecans on a piece of baking paper. Leave to cool before breaking the pecans apart
